Insects can be tricky to draw! They rarely stay in place long enough for you to do a careful sketch. The pictures below were based on plastic insect "models". The kids worked to enlarge their drawings to give a zoomed-in look to their insect and then added vibrant color with oil pastels.
These charming, colorful creatures are now on display in the 1-2 hallway. Ask your child which insect picture they did. Ask them to share with you what they know about their insect, or about insects as a group!
