Back to School!

It's been a great first week of school! The kids have been getting acquainted and reacquainted with one another over our first few days. They have been exploring the classroom books and materials as well as our outdoor classroom space. Today we had our first "Free Friday" in which we take the kids  to enjoy some free play outdoors. This weekly occurrence is highly anticipated by the students and helps build a love of nature and develop a sense of stewardship in taking care of our outdoor places.
I took a group shot of our 1-2 classes in the share circle on Sargent Field as our Free Friday fun wrapped up. We are looking forward to next week when children will be sorted into their Harry Potter houses (these will be their team table assignments within the classroom) and more learning and outdoor adventures!
