Over the past few weeks the kids have been visiting our Nursery Rhyme stations with new learning tasks. Now each group has visited each station for the second time and kids are getting excited to start practicing to show you all they've learned at our Nursery Rhyme Showcase next week!

Simple Simon Station: This round at our mathematical station kids worked together as a team to solve riddles posed in nursery rhymes like
Riddle me, Riddle me, What is that, Over the head, And under the hat? Some of these were easy to figure out while others had much trickier clues. We will do the big reveal Monday to find out the answers.
Mother Goose Station: At this station kids searched for a lesser known nursery rhyme to memorize and practice reciting to share with the group. Many kids found rhymes even Mrs. M. & Mrs. A. had never heard!
Jack Be Nimble Station: Groups at this station chose a nursery rhyme to dramatize and then performed their actions while the rhyme was read or recited.
Queen of Hearts Station: This artistic station called upon kids to visualize a fairy tale or nursery rhyme character in 3D and construct it out of Model Magic clay. Some characters were very popular like Humpty Dumpty, the mouse and clock from Hickory Dickory Dock, and the dish and the spoon from Hey Diddle Diddle.
Mary Quite Contrary Station: At this station kids chose from a selection of nursery rhymes that include many location points and created a map to show the landscape of the setting. Some kids challenged themselves to do this work for the full version of Old Mother Hubbard which is much longer than the opening verse which is most familiar to us.
Little Boy Blue Station: At the musical station, groups chose a nursery rhyme to turn into a song. Some groups made their rhyme into a rap, others chose a rock rendition or an operatic version, and even one done in funk style!
