Observational Drawings

This week, students worked on observational drawings of something close to home - in their yard or neighborhood. This is a practice we do weekly in our outdoor classroom at school which we have been missing. Our wrap up to these drawing days is to lay out our nature journals in a circle and have everyone walk the circle to see each others' work. The shout-outs and compliments across the circle to fellow students can be deafening, but it is a heartening affirmation of their effort and increasing skill at drawing what they see. Our share circle will have to take place in this digital, virtual forum (much like everything else these days), but take some time to appreciate the beauty of nature in the sketches below.
