Last week we kicked off our Greek Study stations. The 1-2 kids have been excited to be engaging in a range of new learning activities to broaden their knowledge of Ancient Greece!
Pictures below show groups of kids creating mosaic designs, writing about their favorite god or goddess, finding mythological locations on a map of Greece, crafting an instrument to be the "voice" of a god or goddess, building a block temple to dedicate to a god or goddess, and translating names of Ancient Greek figures and places from the Greek alphabet to our own!
A new development this week has been the opening of a "portal" that links the mythological world of Ancient Greece with our own. Children are writing letters to greek gods, goddesses, monsters and heroes to mail in our special portal mailbox. After they write their letter, they must address an envelope (using a very special address book we happen to have). Many students are already eagerly awaiting replies!
