This week the 1-2 kids finished a special art project they have been working on with their 4Q fourth grade buddies to create a lovely watercolor bookmark. Using special watercolor paper, we started with careful sketches of flowers from reference images. This was followed by tracing over our pencil lines with a Sharpie marker and erasing the pencil lines underneath. Our last step was applying artist grade watercolor paint to add vivid colors to our final product. Ms. Quimby did a demonstration on watercolor technique as well as how to blend and bleed colors for eye catching effects! This multi-step project took painstaking work as well as a lot of patience and care to create a work of art!
