Dragon Showcase

This week we had our Dragon Showcase as a culminating celebration of our Dragon Study. Kids entered as part of a dancing dragon, making their way up the aisle to our stage area. We were happy that so many of you could attend! But don't worry if you were not able to, there will be other events this year for you to come and see your child's learning.

The presentations included two dragon dances choreographed by the students,  two dragon plays based on favorite read aloud from the unit, dracologist reports on dragon bones discovered and analyzed by our young professors, instruments designed by students to give voice to some of our dragons, creative dragon diagrams showing never before seen species with many integrated animal parts from other creatures (real, mythical and Pokemon), some dragon poems read fluently and musically, and finally our dragon story song which each small group sang a piece of.  The kids all got to take home their dragon portfolios and other pieces of work which did not fit in the folder. If you have not already done so, take a minute to look through these with your child and ask him/her to tell you about them.

This concludes our dragon study which was a little sad for our students, but we reassured them that lots more learning and future studies were on their way!

We were so proud of the effort and enthusiasm the kids brought to the showcase!
