Today, we celebrated Harry Potter Day!
To start our day, we went to the Great Hall to watch Dr. Marscher get sprayed with silly string as a reward for a successful Read-a-thon! Check out the Lilja Instagram post to see a 1-2 wizard up on stage!
Then, our students were introduced to a magical curriculum which included an Ollivander’s Wand Making Session where we created our own wands and then learned various spells and corresponding wand movements, a Quidditch Snitch creation workshop where we turned an ordinary ball into a magical snitch, an Herbology lesson where we counted seeds in a variety of sizes and shapes of pumpkins, a Potions lesson where we used a number of "magical" ingredients and a special incantation using our new wands to turn ordinary stones into precious gems, and finally a Care of Magical Creatures class where we created our very own owls for carrying messages!
