This week, we have been noticing signs of coming spring all around: crocuses are starting to sprout, temperatures have been getting warmer, days are getting longer, buds on trees are getting ready to leaf out, more green can be seen, and some of our favorite migratory birds are returning - red winged blackbirds!
With their fourth grade buddy groups, the 1-2 kids used iPads to snap pictures of signs of spring they are starting to see. Lots of scientific observation and discussion took place as students looked high and low for changes they could document The pictures will be used to create a short nonfiction ebook on the app, Book Creator.
